General Health
Chinese medicine has been shown to successfully treat conditions ranging from back pain to PMS, ASTHMA and ALLERGIES, to ARTHRITIS, DEPRESSION and INSOMNIA, the list goes on. You might be surprised that the health issue you are dealing with right now can be effectively treated through acupuncture.
In all stages of our lives, acupuncture can help :-
Before illness...
Chinese medicine excels at disease PREVENTION. Keeping your body systems healthy so that you can get good sleep, maintain a healthy weight and live a happy, addiction-free life will go a long way to preventing many common health concerns.
After illness...
When you have suffered a serious bout of illness or gone through surgery, your immune system can be very low. Acupuncture is a great ‘supplement’ to help our bodies get back to full fitness, by BOOSTING our bodies’ responses, energy levels, and balancing out any residual stress or negativity which has been left behind.
New beginnings...
If you thinking of starting a family, acupuncture can be a great way to prepare your body for this momentous event. Both women and men should strive for optimal health when planning to begin a family to ensure maximum FERTILITY.
According to Chinese medicine the health of both parents at the time of conception determines the health of the child - improving your health can increase the likelihood of a healthy pregnancy and baby; this is likened to preparing the ground before planting the seed – the condition of the soil determines whether it will germinate and how well it will grow. Stopping smoking, drinking less, eating healthy and maintaining a healthy weight all contribute greatly.
Women may have clues that their periods are not healthy; they may have lots of PMS symptoms or pain, heavy bleeding or irregular cycles. These may indicate that they will have trouble conceiving, acupuncture has found to be very successful in resolving many menstrual issues.
Day to day life...
Does it all get a bit much sometimes? This fast paced life we all seem to live nowadays? STRESS can be a contributory factor to many illnesses and can also impact your enjoyment of life. Insomnia, depression and a lack of energy can all be an indication that you are struggling to balance life’s demands.

There are many common complaints which Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine can help, too many to list here!
But below is a few of those which I have found react particularly well and you are probably familiar with, in your own health or with someone you know. Obviously there are many many more so please contact me if you are not sure. I will tell you honestly if I think I can help, if I have treated that condition before and what success or not I have had, this means you can make an informed choice.
One of the mis-conceptions regarding Acupuncture is that it takes months to have an effect, this can be true, but equally I have had many clients who have had positive results after only 1 or 2 treatments.

Auricular Acupuncture
Auricular acupuncture is a powerful therapeutic technique. It is based around the microsystem belief that the human body is mapped in miniature onto other parts of the body, as with reflexology where the foot is used.
Its modern origins are in Europe as opposed to ancient China, in 1957 Dr. Paul Nogier, a neurologist from France observed a locum doctor treating sciatica by cauterizing an area of the ear. There are over 200 acupuncture points on the ear, each point triggers electrical impulses from the ear via the brain, to the specific part of the body being treated.

Auricular Acupuncture
Notice the needles are very small and super fine and the 'needle pen' that I use makes it virtually painless. Here I have used a few of the common points for headache - Muscle Relaxation Point, Master Shoulder Point, Tranquilizer Point and Occiput. |
"Very friendly and thoroughly professional. I cannot recommend the acupuncture highly enough.
I always leave feeling relaxed and re energised." 5* M-J. Burton
