Cosmetic Acupuncture
With no chemicals or artificial substances being introduced into the body, the appeal of Acupuncture is growing as an alternative to potentially harmful fillers and injections. Biomedical evidence has emerged to support Acupuncture as a confirmed method of collagen induction and regeneration of the superficial levels to the skin, without the risk of some of the other modern treatments.
General health patients as well as cosmetic acupuncture clients, with a full range of conditions, have reported that skin health, tone and dryness improve as a side effect of their specific treatment.
The needles which are used on the face are supper fine, 0.18mm. They are inserted using a ‘needle pen’ (see video) which means that this procedure is virtually painless. Needles are placed around problem areas, along scar or wrinkle lines and underneath the jaw line, depending on the individual’s needs. In addition I use traditional established acupuncture points on the face and body to further benefit the final result.

Facial Gua Sha
Gua Sha involves palpation and cutaneous stimulation where the skin is pressured, in strokes, by a round-edged instrument; that results in the appearance of small red petechiae called 'sha', that will fade in 24 hrs.
In Chinese, Gua is literally translated as scraping, friction, rubbing or extracting, while Sha means sand or sediment, signifying the congestion or toxin removal from our body through scraping therapy.
The benefits of Facial Gua Sha include increasing blood circulation, reducing the look of wrinkles or baggy eyes, and toning the face, extracting toxic waste, removing blood stagnation, and promoting normal circulation and the metabolic processes of the body. Wrinkles reduce in appearance and skin is more soft and plumped.
Facial Gua Sha uses a "tool" made from cow horn or sometimes Jade, which is specially designed to contour the facial features. Organic oils are applied first, and using the specialised Gau sha tool, sweeping motions are used over the entire face in either a linear or circular motion. The tool is swept along specific channels, collateral’s and acupuncture points on face, it simulates blood circulation, reducing blood vessel obstruction.

Small, specialised suction cups are used in the procedure to lift your facial tissue. It is completely painless and leaves no marks. Again as with Gua Sha we move the cups along specific channels and problem areas of the individuals face.
Facial cupping is a very relaxing and enjoyable experience, they is no dragging or pressure, it is a gentle massage. To help to tone your facial muscles, ‘fill’ and tighten your skin, and reduce the amount of puffiness you may have under your eyes.

Please be aware that this treatment can sometimes leave your face quite red, this is a good sign but it is therefore advisable not to have the treatment on a day when you have a social engagement. There is also a small possibility of bruising, though every care is take to prevent this.
